The 2025 FKP Roadshow was held in three cities in Papua: on Monday, 13 January 2025 (hosted by Universitas Papua, Manokwari), Wednesday, 15 January 2025 (hosted by Universitas Cenderawasi, Jayapura) and Thursday, 16 January 2025 (hosted by Universitas Musamus, Merauke).
All events were held in person (luring). The series was supported by KONEKSI, a collaborative initiative in the knowledge and innovation sector that supports partnerships between Australian and Indonesian organisations for inclusive and sustainable policy and technology. Budy P. Resosudarmo (The Australian National University) was speaker at all locations, presenting a talk entitled Energy transition prospects: national and regional perspectives in Indonesia.
The first seminar was held at Universitas Papua in Manokwari on Monday, 13 January 2025 and was attended by around 40 people. In addition to Professor Resosudarmo, there were two other speakers:
- Aplena Elen Siane Bless (Universitas Papua): Maintaining blue carbon by learning from Indigenous Papuan women’s conservation and adaptation strategies
- Ahmad Dhiaulhaq (WRI Indonesia): Conserving ridge to reef in Southwest Papua
The second seminar was held on Wednesday, 15 January 2025 at Universitas Cenderawasih, Jayapura. Around 30 people joined the seminar, comprised of students and faculty at Universitas Cenderawasi. Two other speakers joined, i.e.:
- Elisabeth Wambrauw (Universitas Cenderawasih): Indigenous perspectives on implementing blue carbon policies in Youtefa Bay, Jayapura
- Milda Irhamni (Universitas Indonesia): Integrated climate change model for Indonesia: socio-economic implications on the path to net zero emissions
The last seminar in the series was held on Thursday, 16 January 2025 at Universitas Musamus, Merauke. Around 200 people attended the seminar, and in addition to Professor Resosudarmo, included the following speakers:
- Amelia Limbongan (Universitas Musamus): Climate change, pests, and diseases: threats to agriculture and pathways for biosecurity
- Julius Ary Mollet Universitas Cenderawasih): Blue carbon economy in Papua
- Milda Irhamni (Universitas Indonesia): Integrated climate change model for Indonesia: socio-economic implications on the path to net zero emissions
