Topic 1
Zero-waste bioenergy to lower energy transition risks in Indonesia
Arnita Rishanty (Bank Indonesia Institute/BINS) and Maxensius Tri Sambodo (Badan Riset dan Inovasi Nasional/BRIN)
Forced by the accelerating consequences of physical climate risk and biodiversity loss with the strands of the global decarbonisation trend, Indonesia as the world’s largest producer of palm oil, needs to ensure the sustainability of this industry while also balancing with the energy transition risks mitigation. This study fills the gap in understanding the technology development of methane capture for bioenergy, sharing application of business development, and prospect of methane capture in achieving Indonesia’s Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC) targets. By using quantitative and qualitative approaches, three important things were found by this study.
This research is conducted in collaboration with Mesnan Silalahi (BRIN) and Eriza Hambali (IPB University)
Topic 2
Marginal propensity to donate: an alternative quantitative measurement of public preferences over social impact investment
Dadang Muljawan (Universitas Islam Internasional Indonesia/UIII)
Social impact investments are thought to be heavily dependent on the willingness of the social investors to share the assets they possess with others. There are several drivers which stimulate potential investors to execute donation such as religious motives, humanitarian motives, social motives, or a combination of these motives. This research explores the relevance of the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB) combined with the utility optimization process including monetary and non-monetary reasons affecting spending behavior in some societies.
This research is conducted in collaboration with Dian Masyita (UIII), Hanna Raisya (UIII) and Sultonul Aulia (UIII
